Your service department men are neat, for each day when I got home from work there was no evidence of any installation occurring, everything was clean and in its place. I greatly appreciate how fast and efficient my installation was implemented allowing me to be without heat for only one day.

From the first person to greet us to the last, Rocky Top Air employees are very professional and personable. Patience was also a very good character trait. They were efficient and very friendly. As a company you should be fortunate to have such employees.

Very friendly and professional office staff and technicians. Quality service and people. The service techs are always polite and professional. They listen to any concerns and do what they can to take care of any issues. I like that my service plan also includes plumbing inspections. I had a few minor issues when one of my systems was installed several years ago (manufacturing issue) but they took care of me and did everything they could to make it right.

In February I called Rocky Top Air, Inc. (which apparently operates under the name On Hour Heating and Air as well) and requested a visit and quote regarding upgrading/updating the three water heaters in my home. When I called, I explained that a TVA energy audit inspector had identified my old electric water heaters as good candidates for upgrades that would decrease my utility bills.

I explained that I wanted someone knowledgeable on water heaters to look at the configuration of my house and give me a recommendation and pricing for installation of new water heaters. At the scheduled appointment, I took off work and met with the two employees from Rocky Top Air that arrived at my home. I took them to the crawl space to show them the two 'short' water heaters there and also inside the home where there is a third water heater in a small closet. Unfortunately, most of my questions were met with phrases like: "I'm not too familiar with that", "I don't know the answer", "I will have to check with 'so-and-so' and find out about that", and "I would need to look into that and get back to you".

They were able to provide some information that was useful: the heat-pump systems are noisy, so putting one next to or under a bedroom would be a bad idea, that both gas and heat-pump systems would require running condensation lines out of the house, electric tankless is not recommended (though there was not a clear explanation on why), and a tankless gas water heater will require replumbing with larger ID pipes than what I have now.

After they left, I assumed they would send a quote in the next few days, along with a follow-up call to provide answers to some of the questions I had asked. But I never heard from them or anyone from the company since and it's been over six weeks now. I suppose the company must be over-run with jobs and so losing one like mine is of little consequence to them.

But if that's the case, why bother sending those guys out in the first place? Why have them bring me a 'gift bag' and Welcome letter from the company President and owner (Gerald Allison with his face on it) where he thanked me for choosing Rocky Top and offered cash earnings for making referrals and a $50 Rocky Top Gift card to use in the future? I really don't get it.

I sent a letter back, directly to Gerald Allison, and told my story about my experience with his company. He, nor anyone else with the company, ever responded. What a huge waste of time. I obviously do not recommend this company to anyone.

We had the team out to install a ductless mini-split and it went so well. We hired them because Michelle was very knowledgable and explained everything to us. We were so pleased, we hired them to do some some plumbing work. They sent Raymond who was amazing! He answered all our questions and was very prompt and communicated well. Dawn in customer service is also great. Highly recommend!

We called Rocky Top because of a loud banging noise our heating unit was making when it turned on in this cold weather we've been having lately. Our phone representative was courteous and responsive, and sent a tech out right away. The tech, Zack, was there when promised, examined our system, and within 10 minutes had solved the problem. He was courteous, fast, professional and cheerful.

We've used Rocky Top for years now for maintenance and repairs on a number of HVAC units and they have always been stellar performers. I would heartily recommend them. These days, when you find a company that's this good, you stick with them.it's like gold. Thank you, Rocky Top!

The technician did a great job diagnosing the problem and fixing it. He was professional and it didn't take long. He was at my home for less than an hour. I was surprised at the cost of almost $200 for cleaning a clogged tube. I asked others and they thought it was high too. Service: Cleaning

I used Rocky Top for a new installation after my other unit from a competitor broke for the last time after only being 5yrs old, I am so glad I chose Rocky Top. I wish I would have used them from the beginning of my trouble. They have very reliable and knowledgeable installers, and I have had them out twice for scheduled maintenance, and could be happier, many thanks and anyone looking for a company that does what they say they will and in a timely and professional manor you owe it to yourself to use Rocky Top One Hour Air. I called for a quote on 3 different AC units. They sent 2 sales people and a technician. They never mentioned a service fee for the technician. Now they are threatening to send my account to collections. Had the fee been mentioned, I would have told them not to come out. I feel cheated. They refuse to work with me, so I want everyone to know how they treat people. My advice is never ask them for a quote.

Stay far FAR away from this place! I was told upfront that I would have to pay an $80 fee for diagnosis to be applied for repair and I agreed. The tech came out and "checked" the system and "diagnosed" that I needed the entire system replaced. He said that there was a leak at the reversing valve and the part was $1500. Online the part is actually. $23.

He said the unit had compressor damage because the pressure on both sides were the same with the compressor turned on. He could NOT have turned on the compressor to check as I had the circuit breaker off at the main panel. He estimated a new unit to cost $10,000 but would get a sales person to contact me. In reality, the problem found by a reputable HVAC company was a leak in a copper tube that just needed to be repaired and then filled with refrigerant.

I paid $165 and the unit works fine. I have been asking the company for weeks now for a copy of the "diagnosis" that I paid for and have never received anything. I asked for a full refund and they refuse to contact me back.

I have had a couple of issues with a new unit that was installed by Rocky Top and quiet frankly I would've never recommended them to anyone if it wouldn't have been for Spencer! He just answered an issue quickly that a couple of other service techs have been here to look at and couldn't figure out what was wrong. He'll be running the business in no time at all and should be!

We had Rocky Top put in a new gas furnace/AC. Everyone there is really nice, and we have no problem with the work done. But when the weather turned cold, we noticed that the air didn't come out warm like we're used to, so we called our salesperson. She said she could get a guy to come out and take a look. I assumed it was just a post-installation visit--she didn't tell us it was going to cost us $85, just to find out that the newer 2-stage furnaces don't blow out as warm air as older furnaces do.

Then they quoted us a very pricy maintenance program so we wouldn't have to pay $85 the next time. I think we'll find another company to call. UPDATE: We received our refund, so I'm changing review to 4 stars. I talked to two girls in the office about this issue--I wish it hadn't taken a Google review to get it taken care of.

Rocky Top is prompt and always calls to let you know they are coming. They do what they are supposed to do, and when they leave it is as though they were never here except your units are ready to go till the next service. We appreciate their service very much.

Every person that has come out from the air duck installers to the A/C tech to the Plumbers as well as your sales rep have been professional and have a great personality enjoy working with Rocky Top

I give Rocky Top a 1 and a 5, so a 3 on average. They deserve a 5 because they are generally responsive. They are reasonable to work, their prices are reasonable, and, ultimately, the work is done right. However, they get a 1 for several reasons: 1) Their techs don't necessarily have good equipment for detecting refrigerant leaks. Some do, some don't. 2) Their service manager blatantly lied to me regarding a refund.

Face to face he said he approved the reimbursement, but he did not follow through, except to provide excuses. Finally, after several weeks someone else in the office processed a refund immediately. Would I use them again? I am on the fence. I would certainly be cautious.

AC unit went out on Thursday night. Called for an appointment on Friday, nothing available that day, Monday was labor day so I was scheduled for an appointment at 3:30 on Tuesday. A little inconvenient but understandable. 4:30 Tuesday I get a call (an hour after my appointment) and Rocky Too says their computer system is down and they've been sitting dead all day. Told me that they'll call me tomorrow and see if they can get me on schedule for tomorrow. I'd have appreciated it more if they would say sorry our system was down WE WILL be there tomorrow, considering you've been 4 days with no AC at this point. Called a competitor and they came out for an after hours service call to get me AC today.

Never calling Rocky Top again. Update: so it's the end of the next business day and Rocky Top has not called me to set up a new appointment to come out and fix my system, so glad I called somebody else yesterday and had them come out same day

Rocky Top Air advertises a referral deal of $100 if a customer refers a friend that actually installs one of their products. I referred a friend, a central HVAC was install for $7,000 RTA would not honor that deal. I contacted the sales rep, Michelle, the receptionist, and left a message for the owner. No one would call me back or mail a check. This is false advertising and I will never use them again. I use Maintenace Technologies for all of my HVAC work now.

RT is on it when you need H & A help Larry has been out to our house several times in Farrigut. Quick to access the problems and bring the needed parts components and had the system operating. Their annual check up option is well worth it for long term peace of mind season to season.

I have used Rocky Top for a couple of years and have never been disappointed. We have annual service contracts for two residences and appreciate the thoroughness and honesty of the techs. I called Rocky Top Air and from my first phone call to the inspection today, I was more than completely satisfied. They were prompt, courteous, and efficient. They gave me a quote and there were no hidden fees. Manny and Tadpole completed the work and did a wonderful job. Phil came today while the TVA inspector was here incase anything needed to be redone.
