Hayes Heating has been a family owned and operated business in South Seattle since 1978. We have been in business for 33 years and we service all of King County. We just bought our home in March and since we got here Hayes has come through consistently for us in our tankless water heater needs, AC installation and even helping subcontract electricians for some work we needed done. Even with supply chain and labor shortages they've been prompt, professional, and have our home feeling cozy and ready for the summer! Highly recommend them to anyone in the area.

When we bought our house about 10 years ago, our (dinosaur of a.) furnace had a Hayes Heating sticker on it (they installed it originally back in the day). We called them out for maintenance a couple of times - always friendly, timely & professional. Just this past Winter our furnace started acting up. No surprise as it was 25ish years old. They came out to give us a quote & installed a new furnace within the month. I have never had any issues with Hayes - the front desk staff is always so cheerful & helpful. would definitely recommend!

What? You Don't Sevice The System You Installed! For 12+ years spanning two houses I have been a loyal customer. Yet, being only 17.1 miles and 32 minutes from your office (by Google Maps), you won't service the two HAVC systems at my house that YOU INSTALLED. With you, loyalty is evidently a one-way street. Update: Hayes, your reply of 2/10/21 is weak and disengenous.

No extended travel option was offered, my miles are correct, and your times are only possible during a concervable rush-hour situation. Consumers beware. Contraction of service is an indication this company is struggling to survive.

I live in an older condo and needed the thermostas replaced as the ones I had were the on/off knob type. The first visit was to assess my needs. The tech did not check to see the type of wiring etc and the initial service call was $164.27. I was told the office would call to schedule installations. That didn't happen so I called to schedule the appointment.

That appointment was cancelled as the tech had a family emergency, then the rescheduled appointment was cancelled due to a medical issue. The tech arrived to install the thermostats but he didn't bring the correct ones. This could have been overted if there had been an adequate assessment initially. Again I had to call to schedule the next appointment.

The tech did clean out the wall heater vents (yes this is an additional charge) but after he left I had to vacuum the debris that he had left on the floors. When I called to schedule this appointment I asked the office gal to ask the owner if there could be a deduction in costs due to the continued scheduling issue. She assured me she would. The day before the appointment I called to verify the appointment.

Initially I was told I wasn't on the books but when I questioned further she was able to see I was on the schedule. This was actually the owner who I talked to and she informed me they were a small business and couldn't give any financial consideration. I asked why initially the tech didn't verify the wiring etc. This got a heated response that they have so many things to know they can't do everything.

She ended up hanging up on me. Yes, she later called an apologized. The techs did arrive and installed the two thermostats. It was unnerving that they had to reach out to someone on how to do this and kept checking the internet. They supposedly emailed me my invoice copy but that didn't happen and I had to call for that. The thermostats don't seem to be programed correctly but if I have them out again it will be another service charge. All in all I would not recommend this company. They lack an understanding of customer service, and seem to need to revamp their processes. C. Schaeffer

Please review the business owner response to my previous review. His comment is totally racist. He claimed that I didn't get my service due to my language barrier. This is so funny that the company did not have standard operation procedure and blame customers language level.

I can say after calling many companies, it is very difficult to get a furnace with supply chain issues. I was told that it would be 48 weeks to get a furnace if they had to order it. They worked with me through a lot of possibilties and got it done. The installer was clean and skilled. Also, they showed up to do the work on the day it was scheduled and stayed until it was done.

Hayes Heating serviced my furnace and Tankless Water Heater. Shortly after being serviced my tankless water heater started leaking. When I call Hayes Heating on a Monday they said they could not respond until late Friday. I asked them what I should do without hot water for five days and they seemed unconcerned as it was my problem. I called the manufacturer of the unit and working with them figured out how to use the unit until a part could be replaced.

The manufacture would ship the part to Hayes heating when Hayes called the Manufacturer. The manufacturer would not ship the part to me the customer. I asked Hayes heating to call and acquire the part and then schedule a time to install it. I heard nothing back from Hayes Heating so a week later I called them again. They said they had not heard back from the Manufacturer.

Same routine for another week. A week later Hayes heating said they would get the part and send me an estimate to come and install it. They promised to provide an estimate by email by the next morning. That was 6 days ago and I have heard nothing from Hayes Heating. No call, no email, no response. Hayes Heating installed this tankless unit but it appears i will have to find another contractor to maintain it.

Hayes has done a fine job of servicing both our heating and AC units, though when our gas fireplace was not working correctly, I called to see if they service gas fireplaces and was happily told yes! Our service person Daniel was knowledgeable, thorough and very pleasant. And our fireplace is back up and running! Thank you!

Hayes always provides the best customer services and products (I have had 2 furnaces, 2 air conditioners, and annual duct/maintenance since 1984) - from the receptionist, to the estimator, to the installers, to the maintenance people. Very professional; I wouldn't consider calling anyone else. Kudos to a solid business that provides first rate service and stands behind the products that they sell you!

I used Hayes for maintenance of my fireplace and tankless water heater. Super nice people to deal with, from booking appointment to professional services, and very reasonable price. Special shout out to Kacy and Glen, who not only did a great job, but were also very patient explaining to me the details of the maintenance process. They were also very careful in all the COVID prevention protocol. I will use them again.

Surprised to see some of the bad reviews here because we've had only a great experience with Hayes. We had a much larger project than most people: we were makes some updates to our ADU and it was an opportune time to not only add a mini-split for the ADU but also make some non-trivial updates to our basement ductwork, which Hayes did at a reasonable price. Additionally, they replaced our house's dated heater with a heat pump (and secondary furnace).

While we were waiting for work to begin we had them come service our tankless water heater because the exhaust outside our home smelled weird and they found moisture *inside* the unit (didn't charge us anything for the servicing since you can't service a unit in this shape). We ended up hiring them to replace that (by the way, they didn't switch off our hot water until replacement time - we were OK to use our old unit in the interim), which they did when they came for the other work. Additionally, they replaced the condensate drain pipe (several feet long) the previous homeowner had done a shoddy job and they were leaking (an issue we were aware of).

I am not sure if they charged us for this in their original quote but am doubtful (as they were doing so many things for us the cost for this particular work was lower than my father in law, for whom they replaced a water heater for unrelated reasons). To add to all this: the crew was super professional and everyone was masked when interacting with us. I'm extremely happy not only with our new heat pump and mini split but with the ductwork (they made some adjustments for no added charge to improve air flow to our second story). Oh, and if that wasn't enough: there was an ugly hole in an old brick chimney in our basement used decades ago for an older heating system, which they cleaned out and filled in for us without any additional charge.

Some contractors are a pain to reach, but not Hayes. Their office was easy to reach, as was our sales person, Bill, who was even easily available to us when I had a question after the install was done. Would certainly recommend Hayes to others.

Hayes Heating & Cooling recently installed a new tankless water heater for us and were GREAT from start to finish! They were honest, aggressive on price, and fast. Kirtan the GM, went above and beyond, even coming out himself to do part of the installation. Will definitely be recommending Hayes for years to come! My gas fireplace was not working so I called Hayes Heating who had serviced my furnace the last several years. The technician, Glen, arrived during the allotted 2 hour time given to for his arrival. He was friendly and knowledgeable and answered my many questions with patience. He had the issue solved quickly and made sure everything was working correctly before he left.

He also found one other problem regarding a pipe to the furnace that I was not aware of. I have scheduled that to be fixed with Hayes Heating. I am confident that the service will be done efficiently. I like the fact that this is a local family business. Their prices seem fair.

Tankless hot water is leaking and I called this company contract with Rinnai, paid $129 for a Tecnician to come to check, he turned off the tankless hot water Don't care even have 2 little kids in my family. He told me wait for one week for part order ( part under warranty) and they told me I have to pay $1,600 minimum for 8 hours labor. It doesn't matter how long to fix. Trying to tell me replacement of new unit cost $3,300 because Washington state law does not allow to fix water leaks unit.

I called another company send the technician came check temporarily fix and turn on to use during the part order charge me only $600 which was good. You pay what ever you need, do not pay for nothing I do not recommend this company.

Hayes has again proven to be the very best service we've experienced since buying our home. They've installed a new furnace, water heater, and cleaned our ducts and each time have been wonderful. We are happy to know we can trust them to care about us and our home. Thank you to the entire Hayes team - but especially Jerry, Ben, Kertan and Casey for your hard work on the installation!

The furnace and air conditioning unit in our newly bought home was tripping the breaker occasionally and we wanted to have someone come out to look and see what the issue was and service the AC unit. We had previously had another company look at the furnace and suggested a new blower for $500. Glen came out and told us we needed $4,000 in repairs or a new air conditioning unit and new furnace.

He also noted that our water heater was really old as well and they replaced those (so convenient)- you'll just see it in the very expensive quote. After telling him that we would think about our options he said that he turned the AC unit off to avoid further damage until we had it fixed or replaced. We asked that he turn it back on as it was still cooling the house and we hadn't decided what we would do.

He tried to turn it back on and it wouldn't work, but now throws another breaker (this breaker had never tripped before he came to service the unit). Now we have an AC unit that doesn't work at all and when we called to see what they could do to rectify the situation, the manager was very defensive and told us the same excuses that Glen had. We are now worse off after calling them then we were before. Take your $ and business elsewhere!

Service is everything. And I am pretty sure that the Hayes team could teach classes on A+ service. I worked with, or talked to, five members of the Hayes team over the course of a week and every one of them delivered a way above average experience. Briefly, my 16-year-old furnace gave up on a Saturday night. The service tech talked me through all my options-in clear language-and, we agreed a new furnace was the right choice.

There was no hard sell and no upsell, the tech even insisted I consider my choices overnight. A few days later, a new furnace installed. And me very happy and warm. Thank you, Kirton and the whole team at Hayes. I will never use anyone else for my heating/hot water needs.

My agent referred Hayes to me and all of the staff there are very professional. I have met almost all of their staff including Kirton. They took their time to install my new tankless water heater and took their time to troubleshoot any issue that I had from their last few visits. My neighbor also ended up using Hayes as well!

I was looking for a heating company that could service tankless hot water heater for a particular brand Rinnai. My system powers both water & heat. I called 4 other companies in the Seattle area before speaking with Hayes, some of which weren't taking new clients, their prices seemed steep, etc. I was eager to just find someone to help at this point but instead was pleasantly surprised to find more. Kirtan was extremely helpful over the phone in trying to help me troubleshoot what was going on since their next appointment was a few weeks away and I am hoping to have heat sooner with the weather turning.

I asked a lot of questions as a new home owner not knowing much about this system and he was very honest and informative. It was clear that Hayes is very customer centric and the prices discussed seemed very reasonable compared to competitors. I was sad to see they only 3.5 stars on Yelp, but then looking through the comments all of them are very dated. I would highly recommend giving these guys a call! 5 stars from my point of view

Hayes installed a new boiler in our home. A major investment for us. They were helpful in selecting a suitable boiler that combines heating water for the radiators and for domestic use - a combi boiler. Our old boiler (very old and inefficient) was removed and the new one installed over a period of several days. The work was done very professionally with attention to every detail, skill and using quality materials. We are very happy with the results. The new boiler is highly efficient (saving energy and $) and we have never run out of hot water.

We wanted to get central air in our home and after doing extensive research and asking our family and friends for Heating/AC company referrals, they HIGHLY recommended Hayes Heating. After meeting with Kirton Hayes, we decided to go with them for our central air. Their pricing was VERY competitive and I was able to make an installation appointment in a reasonable amount of time.

They did an excellent job with the installation and answered all of the questions we had! Thank you, Kirton and your team, for your excellent customer service/workmanship! We definitely and HIGHLY recommend Kirton at Hayes Heating! :

Are you cold? Is your furnace broken? Well don't call these clowns because they will come out take hundreds of dollars and then you will still be cold with a broken furnace. I called these folks because my realtor referred me to them as our furnace was having issues. Tim Hayes came out blew some air into the furnace "cleaned and serviced" the furnace claimed it was in good working order, then two days later the furnace stopped working again silly me I called these incompetent people again.

They claimed the condensation pump was bad and needed to be replaced he wanted to charge me for the pump which was I was okay with if it fixed the problem. I was not okay when he tried to tack on a service charge of over a hundred dollars to come back out when he "fixed" the problem days prior and I paid the service charge then. Sure enough a week later the furnace was not working again, at this point I was about five hundred dollars into these idiots and I feel like they stole my money and did nothing for me.

I called my realtor and she took the problem over from there as the homes sale was pending. I can hardly put into words how frustrated felt. I have an update after reading my review on yelp over a year later Hayes heating reached out to me and provided me with a full refund. This was very nice and I appreciate this gesture. I will not be calling Hayes heating for my heating and cooling needs moving forward.

I will give them an additional star for them making things right from a customer service standpoint. August 19th 2016 Yet another update this company continues to harass me about my honest review. back down to one star from me. They should focus on providing good service and accumulate good reviews.

This company is by far the most rude and inappropriate business. I called them because my furnace was not turning on due to a black out. Linda Hayes answered the phone. I gave her my address and contact number. She said she will have Tim call me. I asked: "When will they be able to come out?" It was winter time and we were sitting in a home without heat for three days.

She answered (quote): "Are you stupid?! They will come out when they are able to" Then she hang up on me. I was in a state of shock for several minutes. During that time my husband called her back for explanations. She then said: "Why is your wife so stupid?" Clearly such company should not exist. Not only they are rude but also they don't even have parts for their own furnaces. Lousy work, rude and inappropriate behavior.

We purchased a Coleman heat pump and furnace just over 5 years ago and had some duct work installed to run to our 2nd floor. The Coleman furnace would not kick on after 4 years. They came out on 3 different occassions with 3 different service people and never could get it fixed, then informed after the last time the warranty had run out and future visists would be charged. Pulled the furnance out and had a Train installed by another firm. Buying a Coleman was a mistake as well as a firm that can not fix what they sale.

I absolutely LOVE Hayes Heating! we recently had out furnace replaced with a heat pump system and out heat ducts re-insulated and sealed, they did such an amazing job. it was a BIG job and they did it so quickly. not only that but Lynda and Tim Hayes are wonderful people, and it was a JOY to do business with them. were going to do a few more projects to the house and I will DEFINITELY be calling them again! -Tot

Came early on a sunday morning after I woke up to a freezing cold house. He arrived within an hour of when I called, discovered it was just a loose connection. Fixed it at no charge and was on his way! Honest and professional, i highly recommend! They will always be my choice.

We are so very happy with Hayes Heating! Our heater stopped working right when the weather changed to very cold this year and I called to see if anyone could come out to help. 30 minutes later, Tim came and saved the day! We were almost going to get a hotel for the night so our 11 month old son didn't sleep in a cold room. Prices are fare and customer service is amazing. I HIGHLY recommend Hayes heating to anyone.

We have hydronic heating in our home. One of the valves went bad in our boiler. We had used another company previously and had to have them return 3 times. When another valve went bad we called Hayes Heating. Hayes came out right away did the repair for less money than our previous repair had costs. They were quick efficient, and courteous. I have since recommended them to my neighbors.

I have never ever been treated so disrespectfully and horribly. I had to fire them after a few days of work in which they did $10,000.00 worth of damage to my house and lied repeatedly to us. When I tried to explain my standpoint and give them a chance to redeem themselves, they evaded all of my questions and then laughed at me when I told them I wanted to discontinue my install.

The company I hired to continue to install a heat pump was just as shocked. STAY AWAY from this company. Also, it is worth mentioning a lawyer consulted mentioned that it appeared that the owners (or main people involved) had a previous company that had multiple lawsuits against it.
