Two appointments confirmed. Two no show - no calls. I called the day of the first no show and explained that I had to take time off work for the appointment; they rescheduled and no show - no call again. They have not returned calls after the second missed appointment.

My A/C condenser unit stopped working yesterday. Gave Van a call and he walked me through a couple things over the phone and then said he would come over and take a look. 15 minutes later he arrived and not even 10 minutes after that, my A/C was running again! A fuse had blown and just needed to be replaced - he took care of it for FREE! My family has used Van's services for about 15 years now on two different properties and both my wife and I recommend Airmakers to anyone who needs HVAC. We've had a couple HVAC companies come in over the summer to figure out why our A/C unit wouldn't kick in but they all came up short. Once Van came to troubleshoot, we finally had cool air circulating through the house again. Of course come winter our Nest thermostat starts displaying an error when we try to start the heater. Van came out again, found a problem with the wiring and let us know exactly what was going on. Honest and reliable. Our family appreciates you!

After deciding we wanted to install air conditioning we received 3 bids. Our home was built in the 1970's so it had challenges for installation. We were able to discuss our concerns with Airmakers owner Van Johnson. He is very knowledgeable and discussed all our options, giving us honest advice. He was willing to negotiate and gave us a very good price, significantly lower than the other bids.

The Airmakers installers were very professional and skilled, they completed the installation efficiently and exactly to how we wanted, exceeding our expectations. We were so impressed with Airmakers we had them install air conditioning in our rental property. Airmakers is an honest company offering advice that can be trusted, quick to respond to concerns, and offer fair prices for excellent workmanship and service. Our old A/C system was getting noisier and the fan on the top of unit didn't always start turning when the unit came on. We called Airmakers and Van came out the next day and looked it over - he explained we could fix the unit we had or replace it with another one with the same energy rating and it wouldn't cost too much. We talked Van into to upgrading our air conditioner and furnace to a SEER 16 system to save a little on the monthly bill but mostly to get a quieter system and get everything replaced at one time by the same company (the setup we had was from 3 different installers).

He listened to us and worked with us so we could get exactly what we wanted at a reasonable price. Our neighbor (we live in a mobile home park) came over the next day to say how quiet the A/C was and now she didn't have to shut her windows when it came on. And it's much quieter inside since they put a new grill on the uptake vent. They also installed a vent in the kitchen which we have been wanting since we moved in 10 years ago! Van and his team did a wonderful job - all very pleasant and hard working, came on time and stayed to get it all done the same day.

The only problem we had was with the new thermostat we requested. It worked fine but it took us a while to to get the scheduling to work the way we wanted - now we love it. Thanks so much Van - we couldn't be happier!

Very professional service and responsive to our needs. Originally scheduled a quote to have a mini split installed due to a Costco-affiliated air conditioning and heating company quoting us over $10k for central air conditioning. The owner came out himself for the quote, inspected what he was working with and instead of having us pay nearly the same to have a mini split installed, quoted us a reasonable central air conditioning proposal with top quality equipment for half of the Costco-affiliated quote.

Within the week, we had brand new top-end central air for an affordable price. Runs smoothly and the house is so much more comfortable! Feels like a whole new house at a reasonable price. Highly recommend their services!

We used Airmakers for a furnace replacement and adding air conditioning to our 1970's home. Van came out quickly when we asked for an estimate and was incredibly honest. His quote was substantially less than others we had received. He didn't seem to be trying to sell us a bunch of equipment/modifications that we didn't need which is how we felt during our other quotes. The installation went smoothly and promptly on schedule. We couldn't be happier with our new system and the honesty and integrity of this company.

The heater at our new house wouldn't turn on so I called Airmakers because we had used them a couple times at our previous home. Van has always done great work and been conservative in his diagnosis of what needs to be repaired/replaced. He's reliable, shows up on time and gets right to work. He's always given us a good price as well. This time he came and was up in the attic where our furnace is for awhile working on it.

When he came down it had started working again and he said he had just had to adjust some things and tighten the connection of a part that had been jostled loose. He said there was no charge. I appreciate his honesty and willingness to spend the time to get it working even without charging us. We would recommend Airmakers and will definitely call them with any issues in the future.

A previous reviewer said "nice, honest people who do good, reasonably-priced work" and that's the best description we can give. The owner Van is as low-key and straight forward as anyone can be. His main guy Carlos was competent and accommodating. We had some difficulty accessing ductwork to replace, but Carlos worked with my husband to get it done. It was above and beyond and we appreciated it very much.

This is by far the best place to call if you need heating or ac work. We were having a problem with our home heater not working, so we called Airmakers and Van came out and checked out our heater and told my wife to start with the filter. Very honest man. If there are any issues they take care of it right away. Will definitely tell my friends, thanks for everything guys.

Mercifully.same day service during recent heat wave (temp was 87 inside!). Up and running in one hour. Pricey but worth it.

Recently we decided that, after 4 years in our new house, we were not going to go through another hot summer without air conditioning. Once the decision was made we call 3 companies and scheduled a visit for some estimates. One of those companies was Airmakers. The first company quoted us $7,500 to install a AC unit. Our house already had everything ready for the exception of the actual unit.

That company was Sherlock. The second company was Airmakers. Owner Van Johnson came personally for the consultation. At that time I was at work so Van spoke with my wife instead. My wife never felt pressured or up sold on anything. Van came in with a great offer, way below of what Sherlock had offered. The third company was Mauzy. The Mauzy Rep was just as pleasant as Van.

They also came in with a great offer. After the wife and I had "The talk", we decided to go with Mauzy just for the single fact that they offered a little more perks in their package. I decided to call Van to let him know that we were gonna go with another company, and Van just asked a simple question. Why? When I told him the reasons why we decided to go with Mauzy, not only did he match the perks from Mauzy, he dropped the price significantly enough that there was no question who I was going to go with. Airmakers.

The day of installation, the Airmakers crew came in on time. I met Carlos at the door and he explained what they were going to do that day. They were done in about an hour and a half. Van also showed up to go through the small details after the work was completed. If you are looking for good honest AC professionals, give Airmakers a call. You won't regret it.

Van Johnson is amazing. Our heater was not working and a prior company had recommended a complete replacement for a couple thousands dollars. my handyman referred us to Van for a second opinion and he came promptly the very next day and diagnosed a small part replacement need and fixed it in 5 minutes for less than $200. He performs an honest and accurate job and we are so grateful for his work! Highly highly recommended!

We rarely used our heating and air. Now that we've decided to (we're getting old and can't handle weather fluctuations anymore!), we realized one of our duct went nowhere because it was not properly closed off during a remodel. We got multiple quotes to fix it and Airmaker's was the last one to come. By then, I'd already figured out what was needed and price point. Van is a no nonsense guy and gave us a fair quote.

He didn't talk much and only said what he needed to. Not everyone likes that but I do! He sent Carlos to do the work for us and he was awesome. We will be using them from now on for our servicing as well. We highly recommend them for the quality of work, honesty, price, and no nonsense!

After the recent heatwaves, I finally decided to get AC installed. Since my furnace was original to the 1970s construction house, I needed to get that replaced as well to fit an AC coil on top. How the process went. I first called Airmakers and left a voicemail. The next day, a woman returned my call and was able to schedule an onsite estimate the very next day. Van the owner came out to give the estimate and seemed like an straightforward guy that doesn't resort to marketing gimmicks.

He checked the furnace closet, the breaker panel, and the existing registers and gave me a really competitive quote. A week later, I called them back asking to extend the ductwork into one of my bedrooms which didn't have an opening, and to get a WIFI thermostat. Van was able to add the extra work without too much additional cost. After collecting 3 quotes, Airmakers had the most competitive quote for the amount of work I was looking for.

I was able to get the installation scheduled within the next 3 business days. The contractors were friendly and took about 6 hours to do their job. They did a fairly good job of cleaning up, not the best cleaning job I've seen from a contractor (I rate the clean up an 8/10) but for the money they saved me, I didn't mind too much. There was an old unused duct run in my attic that they disassembled but that I had to pull out myself. Everything seems to be working as expected so far!

Our air-conditioning was installed in April 2017. I received quotes from 5 companies, one of them being Airmakers. I phoned for an appointment & Van arrived the next day. The woman who answered wasn't friendly, but wasn't rude either. He's a direct, no frills type of guy - which works great since he saves you a ton of money while providing quality products & work.

His quote included a new furnace (ours was still functional for central heating but not recommended for AC), condenser, thermostat, a new duct to our room addition & new registers throughout the house. His quote was a third to a half less than the other companies. The installers were extremely friendly. The job took a few hours to do but didn't impede on our day.

We did clean up (nothing major) after the installation but I didn't mind since they saved us thousands of dollars, literally. About our home: We've lived in this house for almost 40 years. Our original furnace was also Rheem (the brand Van installs) & still worked well during the winter months. The inside of our house is usually temperate throughout the year, but can reach temps over 90 degrees during the Santa Ana weather & below 60 during the winter. So far, our bill averages out pretty well with occasional usage. Thank you, Airmakers!

Van Johnson and Airmakers did a great job with my new AC unit. I probably had about 5 people come out for quotes. Van was very competitive on price, but not my absolute lowest quote. However, he seemed the most trustworthy, knew what he was talking about, didn't sound like he was trying to BS me, and really wanted to get my business. I just had the best gut feeling with him.

His team installed my unit quickly, cleaned everything up, and I had cold air blowing again in no time. I also had him come back another time, and increase the air flow in a couple of rooms. The job took his guys about an hour, and again, the cost was very reasonable. Highly recommended.

We noticed an odd smell one morning in our home after using the heater overnight on a rare cold night in San Diego. I immediately imagine the worst case scenarios and start reviewing my stop drop and roll techniques fearing our home would burst into flames at any moment. My next step is to obviously go on yelp and find professional help. Van from Airmakers was great!

He fit us in later in the day and came promptly at the time scheduled. He checked out our heating unit and vents and luckily found nothing but a dirty old filter that needed changing. The great thing about SD is that you rarely need to use your heater, on the flip side I guess weird smells can happen if you don't use it very often. Luckily I have a go to heating and air conditioning guy should anything else come up!

These guys are GREAT! Making the consultation was quick and easy. Th manager Tracy and the owner Van were both very helpful and friendly along with the other employees I met. I haven't had any problems with their product or their service. I absolutely recommend!

We moved into our home about a year and a half ago. Although the we don't use our AC much, we hadn't noticed a problem. During this summer's hot spell we noticed the AC cycling over and over yet it seemed the AC wasn't doing its job. Lucky for us, the prior owner left the paperwork for the installation of the AC. The unit was only 4 years old.

At first we thought it might be a bad thermostat, but that didn't pan out. So we called Airmakers and Van came out the next day. He went through the AC and discovered the refrigerant was low. He filled the unit with refrigerant and took temp readings at the vents. Once the refrigerant was full he took more readings which showed the air temps to be substantially better. It's good to find honest and competent service people. The real kicker is that he didn't even charge us for the visit. Now you can't beat that. We highly recommend Airmakers!

Came back from out of town to a heat wave & no cool air.to make things worse my spring broke on my garage door. Luckily while the repairman was fixing it he noticed an Airmakers truck in my neighbors driveway. Van came over & it was a simple fix but he had to rush to the warehouse to get the part before they closed. Van had my air conditioner up & running in minutes. Great Company & I am all for supporting local family businesses over the big guys!

The guys at Airmakers support the products that they sell. I bought a system from Van about 3 years ago and for some reason the coolant level recently started to slowly decrease over several months. After notifying Van of the issue, he sent his team to run a comprehensive diagnostic test on the system and they ended up locating a very small leak in one of the accessory components.

Because Van warranties his products and work, the component was replaced at absolutely no cost to me. His team is extremely professional, respectful, and they leave your house as clean as when they arrived. Highly recommended!

Van and his team are great! Good service, good prices and even the slightest little problem with the system and they're on the way to check it out. Van's crew installed A/C for me a little over 2 years ago. Since then, there have been two small issues (none of which were related to the install) and the team came out both times (at no charge) to see what was wrong. Great service. I found them in Yelp and read all the good reviews about them so I hired Airmakers to change out our central air conditioning. Very happy with everything. The technicians were nice and worked very diligently throughout the day. Everything works great and I'm very happy. Glad to write a good review and recommend them.

Airmakers installed our Bryant heater and air conditioner a couple of years ago. It worked great up until a couple of weeks ago when we stopped getting cool air. We called Airmakers, and Van came out the very same day and fixed the problem (apparently you have to change the filter every few months. still learning how to adult over here). I was surprised he could come the very same day, and that meant a lot to me as I work from home. Fantastic installation and continued service! I'd recommend this company to anyone.

I did not hire Airmakers for a very big job. The man replaced my air conditioning filter and did an annual check up. I am writing this review because he was such a nice man that I want to share my opinion with others in San Diego. He said I can write him a review if I was pleased with his work, which I am. I'm not sure where to write the review so I am writing it here. I highly recommend Airmakers Heatingand Air Conditioning.

I totally did not expect this to go as smoothly as it did. Our air conditioning stopped working completely on the hottest day of the year so we called the first "good" HVAC contractor we could find online. It was Airmakers. He came up as soon as he could and it was so hot we were prepared to give him our first born child, and the second, to get the ac working again. Luckily for us, it was only faulty thermostat.

He replaced the one we had and showed us how to work the new one, which now allows us to regulate air temperature better and it actually turns off when we're not home and turns down at night when we don't need it as much. It's not one of the difficult to use thermostats, either. This one is easy (after Van showed us how it works). This was a very cheap and easy fix. Very happy to have called Airmakers Heating and Air.

My project was to move my AC Condenser from the back of my house to the side of my house. BEST PRICE, QUALITY WORK, PROMPT, PROFESSIONAL At first it sounded to good to be true. He had an opening the very next morning. The work was done, they cleaned up, it looks great. They gave me a LIFETIME warranty on their workmanship and their parts. Bottom line, the beast I call my condenser has been moved so it is no longer an eye sore in my yard, it is quieter for my family when we are at the patio table dining or chatting and my AC works perfectly! They take pride in their work and want their customer to be happy. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family!

Excellent service. Van changed out an old condenser we had with a new Bryant system. While working on it, my neighbor came over and asked Van to give him a quote on replacing his central AC. Great work on both accounts. Very pleased we hired Airmakers heating and air.

This is the nicest contractor I have ever used. van gave us a quote that matched the final price and it was better than any other contractor we talked to. So we hired him and within a day, we had a new heat pump installed in our old La Jolla home.

We had an emergency. Our air conditioning system broke down and we live in Ramona. It gets hotter here than in the rest of San Diego County, except for maybe Escondido or Lakeside. Airmakers was the first company we called because they had a lot of good reviews on the internet. We weren?t sure if they were real because we know everyone tries to make themselves look good on the internet, but Airmakers lived up to their reviews for sure.
